BIOGRAPHY:

Hu Jia is an Associate Professor in State Key Laboratory of Oil and Gas Reservoir Geology and Exploitation at Southwest Petroleum University (SWPU). Previously, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Texas Tech University. Jia’s research interests include EOR (air injection, thermal recovery) and developing various functional materials for water shutoff, conformance control, temporary plugging in wellbore and other oilfield-chemistry-related topics. He prefers to combine the philosophy of chemical formulas (additives) design with reservoir engineering by the using of experimental evaluation and numerical simulation approaches. Jia currently serves as the PI (principal investigator) and Co-PI of almost 20 projects sponsored by Natural Science Foundation of China, Sichuan Youth Science and Technology Fund and Oil Companies (CNPC, CNOOC, Sinopec). He has authored and co-authored more than 50 technical papers (Google Citations > 500) and holds 6 patents. Jia served as technique editor for almost 20 peer-review international journals. He holds a PhD degree in Petroleum Engineering from Southwest Petroleum University.
