BIOGRAPHY:

Pia Wintermark  is a pediatrician and neonatologist. Her research is devoted to the study of the unique profile of brain injury in newborns using advanced neuroimaging techniques and bedside monitoring to measure brain perfusion, in order to understand mechanisms underlying these injuries, develop therapies for these injuries and improve the neurodevelopmental outcome of these newborns. She is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at McGill University and a Neonatologist at the Montreal Children's Hospital. She trained in pediatrics and newborn medicine at Lausanne University in Lausanne, Switzerland and at Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA.
