Jelena Roganovic completed her MD and Ph.D. from Rijeka University School of Medicine. She is board-certified in pediatric hematology/oncology and pediatrics. She is the chief of the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at Children\'s Hospital Rijeka, which provides care to children with a variety of hematological and oncologic conditions in the greater three-county area. Dr Roganović graduated at School of Medicine Rijeka (1982) and completed her pediatric internship at the Pediatric Clinic Rijeka (1990). She completed two postgraduate studies: 'General Pathological Physiology' and 'Medicine of Developmental Age'. In 1997 she earned doctoral degree on PhD thesis 'Genetic Factors in the Etiology of Malignant Diseases in Children'. Dr Roganović completed a fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology at the Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology in Padua, Italy, in 1998. She has devoted her professional work in both clinically and laboratory research, being on educational training in pediatric oncology in Zagreb (Croatia), Ljubljana (Slovenia), Los Angeles (California, USA), Trieste (Italy), Padua (Italy) and Cinncinnati (Ohio, USA).  Currently, dr Roganović is a certified member of many national and international pediatric hematological and oncological  societies. The most remarkable is her contribution in the field of immune thrombocytopenia as a member of ICIS (Intercontinental Cooperative ITP Study Group). Dr Roganović is the author of more than 250 publications, abstracts and proceedings on topics in multiple areas of childhood cancer and pediatric hematology. She is a member of several editorial teams and serves as a review board member of repute in a number of international pediatric journals
