BIOGRAPHY:

Dr. Jamel EL Benna is a research director the Center for Research on Inflammation (CRI), INSERM-U1149, CNRS-ERL8252, University Denis-Diderot in Paris, France. He has received his Ph.D in Immunology and Biochemistry from University Paris-Sud, Orsay, France. After his thesis, he worked for three years as a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Bernard M. The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, California, USA. Dr. Benna is interested in the molecular and cellular mechanisms of innate immunity and inflammation, in particular the regulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) production by the phagocyte NADPH oxidase (NOX2) in neutrophils. He trained more than 20 graduate students, 10 postdoctoral fellows, 25 undergraduate research students. He has authored more than 130 articles and book chapters. He is serving as an editorial member of several journals and Invited Reviewer for several journals
