BIOGRAPHY:

Bernardino Geraldo Alves Souto graduated in medicine at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, Brazil in 1987. He is a specialist in Intensive Care Medicine, Internal Medicine and Epidemiology. He is MD-PhD in Medicine also, in the field of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine, certified by the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. He acts especially in General Medicine, Epidemiology, Infectious Diseases (HIV/Aids), Intensive Care Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Health Surveillance, Hospital Infection, Health Education and Public Health Management. He is an associate professor at the Department of Medicine of the Federal University of Sao Carlos, Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he is the leader of the Applied Clinical and Epidemiological Research Group on Health Sciences, Professor at the Professional Master Program in Clinical Management and Coordinator of the Medical Residency Program in Family and Community Medicine.
