Dr. Phonthakorn (Paul) Panichkul is now working as a consultant at Bangkok Hip and Knee Center, Bangkok Hospital. Dr. Panichkul received extensive training, certifications and specialized in the Direct Anterior Approach for hip replacement. Dr. Panichkul is a speaker at several international meetings for the direct anterior approach to hip reconstruction and also has published research on the anterior approach for hip replacement. Dr. Panichkul completed his medical education and residency training at Chiang Mai University, Thailand. He completed his Orthopaedic board certified by Royal College of Orthopaedic Surgeon of Thailand in 2011. He subsequently completed clinical and research fellowships in adult joint reconstruction at Thammasat University in 2013. Having already won awards for his orthopaedic research internationally and published several papers in prominent international journals. He also completed his fellowship at Anderson Clinic in 2014. He finished a clinical fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at University of Western Ontario, Canada in 2015. During his fellowships, Dr. Panichkul devoted his efforts to research work led by the world-renowned hip & knee surgeons, Prof. Steven MacDonald, Prof. Richard McCalden, Dr. Charles Engh, Jr. Dr. William Hamilton. After completing his fellowship at Anderson Clinic, Dr. Panichkul was heading to the London Health Sciences Centre at the University of Western Ontario in Canada for his clinical fellowship year and then to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for a final fellowship year with Prof. Daniel Berry.
