EDITORIAL BOARD MEMBER - Dieudonne Kaimbo Wa Kaimbo
Dieudonne KaimboWa Kaimbo is full professor of ophthalmology and biophysics at the University of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. He earned his medical degree at the University of Kinshasa and obtained a PhD in glaucoma in 1999 at the Catholic University of Leuven. He has conducted research on several epidemiological topics. His main research interest areas are in ophthalmology: a) glaucoma, epidemiology of eye diseases, refraction, cataract and b) diabetes mellitus, uveitis. He has been supervisor for more than 20 MSC theses and 3 PhD theses at Universities. He is member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), International Society of Refractive Surgery (ISRS), European Association for Vision and Eye Research (EVER), French and Belgian Ophthalmological Societies. He is co-foundator, member and president of the Congolese Society of Ophthalmology. He is on the editorial board of local, regional and international medical journals and is an active reviewer of local, regional and international medical journals. He was co-principal investigator in research grant 'managing diabetic retinopathy in Kinshasa' funded by VLIR (2004 till 2009).
