BIOGRAPHY:

Qualified Dietitian with extensive academic experience at Stellenbosch University in South Africa, University of Aberdeen and University of Warwick. Currently, Debbi is the Postgraduate Academic Lead for Curriculum Innovation at Warwick Medical School. She provides educational leadership for a portfolio of courses including the MPH and MSc programmes in Advanced Clinical Practice, Advanced Critical Care Practice, Health Research and Health Sciences. She is the Module Lead for the Distance Learning option of UReCA (Understanding research and critical analysis), INSITE (Induction, Skills Improvement Tailored to enhance Employability) and will co-lead the newly developed Global health (MPH & MSc in Human Engineering) and Pathways to public health careers (MPH). Debbi is part of the Social Science and Systems in Health Unit within the Division of Health Sciences. She represents the Medical School as a member of Faculty committees - Biomedical and Scientific Research Ethics, Medicine Undergraduate Studies, Graduate Studies and at School level on the Welfare Strategy Group, co-leading the health & wellness awareness group. She is a key member of the Medical School PGT leadership team, involved in contributing to the strategy for PG education especially relating to Technology enhanced learning. Externally, she represents the University and chairs the National UNEIG relating to Nutrition in the Medical Curriculum and deputises for the Pro-Dean Education of the medical school for the West Midlands Dean/SAfHE meetings. Debbi is a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy with expertise in teaching and assessment (internally and externally) at under- and postgraduate levels; programme and course coordination; quality assurance, curriculum development and reform; student recruitment & selection and pastoral care. She is committed to supporting and promoting innovative teaching, reflective practice and enhancing the student experience.
